Helen Mae Holland, 87, of Cape Girardeau, Mo., died Tuesday, March 11, 2014, at Ratliff Care Center in Cape Girardeau, Mo.

She was born Aug, 24, 1926, in Stoddard County, Mo., to Leffler and Ada Monroe Lee. Helen lived her life in Stoddard and Cape Girardeau Counties.

On Feb. 26, 1947, she married the love of her life Dale Holland, who preceded her in death in December 2012.

She was a devoted and proud homemaker, wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, who was also a "sister" and "second mother" to many.

She was a member of Lynwood Baptist Church, and also attended Fellowship Baptist Church of Cape Girardeau.

Survivors include two sons; Romie Holland (Jean) of Woodland, Calif., and Randal Holland (Janice) of Cape Girardeau; five grandsons, Shane Holland of Susanville, Calif., Bruce Suchman of Cape Girardeau, Mo., Benjamin Suchman of Warrensburg, Mo., Ryan Holland of Woodland, Calif., and Brandon Suchman of Cape Girardeau, Mo.; seven great-grandchildren, and one brother, Jerry Lee (Martha), of Dexter, Mo.

She was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Herb Lee and husband, Dale Holland.

Special thanks to the staff of Ratliff Care Center for their care the past six months. A very special thanks to Norman Robert for his help and care of both Dale and Helen these many years.

Visitation will be Friday, March 14, 2014, from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Ford and Sons Mt. Auburn Funeral Home in Cape Girardeau, Mo.

Funeral service will be at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, March 15, 2014, at the funeral home with the Revs. Frank Burgess and Mark Anderson officiating.

Interment will be at Cape County Memorial Park in Cape Girardeau.

The family requests that memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, Teen Challenge, or a charity of their choice.
