A home on County Road 607 is shown fully engulfed in flames Thursday. The Dexter Fire Department responded at 11:20 a.m. Assistant Fire Chief Dave Rowe said the house was a total loss. Rowe said it was unknown at this time what caused the fire. The home was owned by Lois Diebold who recently purchased the house and she was in the process of having it remodeled. No one was home at the time of the fire. Rowe said the house and two out buildings were were fully engulfed when the fire department arrived. The wind spread the fire to grassy areas around the house, making it more difficult for firefighters. Fireman didn't leave the scene until the fire was completely extinguished because of the wind, said Rowe.
