Anna Ruth Dial, daughter of the late Clyde and Mildred Stobaugh Scroggins, was born in Conway, Arkansas on March 22, 1935, and died at her home in Granite City, Ill. on Feb. 19, 2014, at the age of 78. She had lived in Dexter, Mo. for many years until moving to Granite City, Ill. several years ago to be near her family. She was a lifetime member of the Amvets in Granite City, Illinois...

Anna Ruth Dial, daughter of the late Clyde and Mildred Stobaugh Scroggins, was born in Conway, Arkansas on March 22, 1935, and died at her home in Granite City, Ill. on Feb. 19, 2014, at the age of 78.

She had lived in Dexter, Mo. for many years until moving to Granite City, Ill. several years ago to be near her family. She was a lifetime member of the Amvets in Granite City, Illinois.

On July 12, 1952, she was married to John D. Dial in Piggott, Ark. He preceded her in death on Jan. 25, 2006.

Surviving are one daughter, Ruth Ann Byrum of Granite City, Ill.; one son, James Dial of Granite City, Ill.; two grandchildren; and one sister, Mary Corder of Dexter, Mo. Other relatives and friends also survive.

Visitation will take place on Friday, Feb. 21, 2014, after 1:30 p.m. at the Watkins & Sons Funeral Home in Dexter.

Funeral services will be held Friday, Feb. 21, 2014, at 3 p.m. at the Watkins & Sons Funeral Home in Dexter with Darrell Penberthy of Dexter, Mo. officiating.

Interment with be in the Hagy Cemetery in Dexter, Missouri with Watkins & Sons Funeral Service of Dexter in charge of arrangements.
