CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo. -- "Civil War Times" is being hosted by the Rosemary Berkel and Harry L. Crisp II Museum from 1-4 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 15 at Southeast Missouri State University's River Campus.

"Civil War Times" introduces the life and times of soldiers and their families. Visitors will see period fashion, camp displays, firearms, a tea party and a river squadron, receive fort facts and participate in trivia challenges and hands-on activities.

Special guests at the event include the Turner Brigade and the Sixth Missouri Company D Confederate Infantry Reenactors of Dexter, Mo. The Turner Brigade is a reenactor organization that portrays infantry, artillery and engineer units of Missouri Union volunteers and civilians of the Civil War period. Members of the 1st MO Engineers of the West will be on hand with their rifles and accouterments. The ladies will have displays and a hands-on activity.

The Sixth Missouri Company D Confederate Infantry Reenactors of Dexter will demonstrate setting up camp, host a ladies' tea, present period dress head to toe and lead a Civil War trivia challenge.
