Dexter Parents as Teachers is offering free vision, hearing, and develop mental screening for children between the ages of three months and three years. The screenings will take place at Southwest Elementary School on Monday, Feb. 3, from 2 p.m. until 7 p.m.

"Developmental screening is important," stresses PAT Director Melanie Stoelting, "because it will show if a child is learning basic skills when he or she should be, and it can identify developmental delays early so that treatment services can be started."

To schedule an appointment to have a child screened, parents are asked to call the PAT office at 614-1004. The child's immunization record should be brought to the appointment.
