ST. JAMES, Mo. - The state-ranked Dexter Bearcats varsity girls basketball team suffered a 63-53 loss at state-ranked St. James Thursday night.

The game was tied at 13 at the end of the first quarter, Dexter led 30-27 at halftime and the game was tied at 46 at the start of the fourth quarter.

Erika Cobb tallied all seven of Dexter's fourth-quarter points. She finished with 14 points.

Hannah Noe led Dexter in scoring with 15 points. Paige Patterson tallied nine points, Makayla Waldner scored seven points, Alison Jarrell calculated six points and Melanie McKuin recorded two points.

Jarrell and Cobb both hit two treys. Waldner drained Dexter's other 3-pointer.

St. James entered the contest ranked No. 2 in Class 3. Dexter is ranked No. 3 in Class 4.

Dexter will play Miller Career Academy Saturday at 1 p.m. in Park Hills. Miller Career Academy is ranked No. 5 in Class 4.
