Ruth O. Lane, daughter of the late Lesley James and Mary Finna Garrison Edwards, was born in Gideon, Mo., on March 21, 1930, and died at The Bluffs Nursing Center in Columbia, Mo., on Dec. 31, 2013, at the age of 83.
She had grown up in the Frisco area moved to Dexter after retirement. She was a member of the Church of Christ, the Eastern Star and the Elks Lodge #2439.
On Feb. 23, 1946, she was married to Delmer Lane in Bloomfield, Mo.
Surviving are two sons, Perry Lane of Dexter, Tim Lane of St. Louis; two daughters, Connie Wyatt of Cape Coral, Fla., and Cherie Chapman of Columbia; 10 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. Other relatives and friends also survive.
She was preceded in death by one son, Dennis Lane; one granddaughter, Morgan Lane; and one brother, Buddy Edwards.
Visitation will held on Saturday, Jan. 4, 2014, after 12 p.m. at the Watkins and Sons Funeral Home in Dexter. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. at the Watkins and Sons Chapel in Dexter with Herman Morse of Dexter officiating. Interment with be in the Dexter Cemetery with Watkins and Sons Funeral Service in charge of arrangements.
