Clara Taylor daughter of the late George Barnes and Tennessee Keck Barnes was born on May 5, 1919, in Formosa, Ark., and died on Dec.13, 2013, at her residence in Dexter at the age of 94.
Mrs. Taylor attended First Baptist Church in Bloomfield and the Emmanuel Baptist Church in Dexter. She was a resident of Dexter.
She was united in marriage to Don Taylor at Grayridge in 1966. Mr. Taylor preceded her in death on Jan. 24, 2009.
She is survived by two sons, Calvin Taylor and wife Helen of Bloomfield and Carlis Taylor and wife Jo Ann of Louisville, Ky.; five daughters, Betty Cruse of Grayridge, Bonnie Crumpecker of Morehouse, Beulah Berry and husband Les of Bloomfield, Barb Bryant of Rockford, Ill., and Brenda Robbins and husband Stew of Spotsylvania, Va.; one step-son, Bobby Joe Taylor of Fort Smith, Ark.; one step-daughter, Margaret Ann Taylor of Morehouse; one brother, Jessie Barnes of Bernie; 15 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren and eight great-great-grandchildren.
Besides her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by five brothers, Claude Barnes, Henry Barnes, Alvin Barnes, Andrew Barnes and Tollie Barnes and two sisters, Beatrice Malone and Macel Cooper.
Visitation was held at the Rainey-Mathis Funeral Home in Dexter on Tuesday, Dec. 17, 2013, from 9:30 a.m. until 11:30 a.m. Funeral services were conducted at 11:30 a.m. in the Rainey-Mathis Funeral Chapel in Dexter with Rev. Shane Mallard officiating. Interment followed in the Hagy cemetery.
