Ross Webster Croy, 84, of Emory, Texas, the son of Ross Bateman and Allie McKinney Croy, was born Sept. 20, 1929, in Cape County, Mo., and died Oct. 11, 2013, at the Hospice of East Texas in Tyler, Texas.
Ross married Ada Mae Coomer, on Feb. 20, 1948, in Piggott, Ark.
Survivors include two sons, Larry Dwayne Croy and wife, Linda of Cahokia, Ill. and Matthew Odell Croy of St. Petersburg, Fla.; three daughters, Brenda Joyce Hedgcoth and husband, Steven of Cahokia, Ill., Connie Sue Montgomery and husband, John of Columbia, Ill., and Beverley Ann Croy of Emory, Texas; five sisters, Helen Rainey of Advance, Mo., Emma Cook of Fairview Heights, Ill., Annalee Cates of Dexter, Mo., Shelby Matthews of Arnold, Mo., and Bonnie Johns, also of Advance, Mo.; one brother, Bertis Croy of Jackson, Mo., 14 grandchildren; 30 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild. Other loving family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Ada Mae Coomer Croy, in 2010; one son, Ross Lesley Croy in 2004; three brothers, Gary, Lester, and Arvil Croy, and two brothers in infancy; one grandson, Loren David Croy in 1986; and one great-grandson, Simeon Alexander Tutwiler in 2012.
Visitation was held on Sunday, Oct. 13, 2013, at the Wilson Orwosky Funeral Home in Emory, Texas.
Funeral services were held Monday, Oct. 14, 2013, at Lake Fork Baptist Church with Bro. David Smith and Bro. Don Ridgeway officiating.
Interment followed at the Lake Fork Cemetery in Wood County, Texas. Wilson Orwosky Funeral Home was in charge of all arrangements.
