Louie William "Pete" Watson, son of the late Triss and Fannie Lane Watson, was born near Bernie, Mo., on March 8, 1924, and passed away at the Saline Memorial Hospital in Benton, Ark., on July 27, 2013, at the age of 89.
Mr. Watson, a resident of Dexter, had lived in Bloomfield the majority of his life. He was a member of the Trinity United Methodist Church in Bloomfield.
On Dec. 1, 1944, he was married to Bonnie Jean Wilmath in Piggott, Ark.
Surviving are his wife of 67 and one-half years, Bonnie Jean Watson, of Dexter; two sons and wife, Larry Watson of Bloomfield, Mike and Judy Watson of Benton, Ark.; two daughters and husbands, Brenda and Buck Hamlin of Pevely, Mo., and Saundra and Glynn Holt of Jefferson City, Mo., seven grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; two sisters, Juanita Lamunion and Beautone Smith; five brothers, Bob, Jerry, Jack, Gary, and Bill Watson. Other relatives and many friends survive to mourn his passing. He was preceded in death by one sister, Coleen Watson and three brothers, Everett, Chester, and Jim Watson.
Visitation was held July 29, 2013, and funeral services were held July 30, 2013, at the Chiles-Cooper Funeral Home in Bloomfield with Rev. Ron Dunivan of Monette, Ark., officiating.
