A Dexter man is behind bars following a fight on the 900 block of N. Sassafras.

At 10:45 a.m., police received a phone call from a neighbor who spotted two men fighting in a driveway on Sassafras.

Dexter Police Chief Sammy Stone said the caller stated the pair was still fighting as they were making the report.

When officers arrived on the scene, they called for an ambulance. One of the individuals, 52-year-old Kenneth Sorensen, was found to have a bump on his head as well as minor cuts and abrasions.

He was transported to the hospital for treatment.

Michael Ross, 62, of Dexter, was arrested for fighting in public and taken to the Dexter City Jail. He posted a $125 bond and has since been released.

Just before 5 p.m. police were summoned back to the area for another peace disturbance. They subsequently arrested both Ross and Sorensen.
