Bond Griffin, son of the late William Jackson and Corda Attenberry Griffin, was born on Sept. 24, 1927, in Hornersville and died at the Golden Living Center in Dexter on April 7, 2013, at the age of 85.
Bond had lived in the Bloomfield area most of his life. He was a retired farmer.
On June 21, 1946, he married Winona Cowell in Benton.
Surviving are his wife, Winona Griffin of Bloomfield; one son, Wade Griffin of Bloomfield; two daughters, Bonnie DeBlois of Bloomfield, and Carolyn Jackson of Citrus Springs, Fla.; five grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, one great-great-grandchild; and one sister, Bernice Eason of Sikeston. Other relatives and friends also survive.
He was preceded in death by four brothers, Norman, Thomas, Lois "Dude", and Murphy Griffin; and two sisters, Era Harshbarger and Evelyn Seabaugh.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, April 9, 2013, from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the Chiles-Cooper Funeral Home in Bloomfield.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, April 10, 2013, at 11 a.m. at the Chiles-Cooper Funeral Home in Bloomfield with Rev. Ronnie Stevens of Bloomfield officiating.
Interment will be in the Gravel Hill Cemetery near Bloomfield with Chiles-Cooper Funeral Home is in charge of all arrangements.
