POPLAR BLUFF, Mo. -- A manhunt is underway following an overnight jailbreak in Butler County.
The Butler County Sheriff's Department issued a release stating that at 11:35 p.m. last night three inmates escaped from jail. They are identified as Rodney Joe Green, Matthew Brandon Cook and Kade Reaves Stringfellow.
No information was released regarding their method of escape, but it is believed they have fled the Butler County area. No further details were released regarding where they suspect the escapees may have been headed.
Rodney Green, 40, of Poplar Bluff, was being held by Butler County authorities following two home invasions, two shootings, the theft of an automobile, and an assault that took place over a period from late January to early February.
Michael Cook, 29, was charged with the Feb. 19, 2013, murder of Sean Crow at an Advance McDonald's. He has been held in Butler County Jail since his arrest.
Kade Reaves Stringfellow was also being held on murder charges from a separate incident. Stringfellow was being held for New Madrid County.
Agencies involved in the manhunt include the Butler County Sheriff's Office, the Poplar Buff Police
Department, the Missouri State Highway Patrol, and the Stoddard County Sheriff's Office, as well as numerous agencies from surrounding counties and municipalities.
