As members of the Major Case Squad were gathered Monday evening to conclude their investigation of the Feb. 19 murder of Sean Crow, they got called out again.
Authorities were called to a residence on County Rd. 612 in Dexter on Monday evening to investigate a death.
Stoddard County Sheriff Carl Hefner said since they were already together, all members of the squad responded.
No details regarding the death were released, but Hefner did state that while the death was initially considered to be suspicious, they had changed that status.
An autopsy was ordered for Tuesday morning.
Hefner said preliminary autopsy reports showed nothing suspicious in nature.
While they are still awaiting toxicology reports, he said he doesn't expect that status to change.
Found at the rural residence on County Rd. 612 (Grant St.) near Three Mile Road was 33-year-old Jennifer Lynn Mayberry.
Hefner said the fact that the Major Case Squad was on hand is more of a coincidence than anything else, but that having them assembled did make it easier to investigate the scene and determine exactly what they were dealing with.
A complete obituary for Jennifer Lynn Mayberry appears on page five of today's Daily Statesman.
