Even though the temperatures are below freezing and will continue like that for several weeks, students in Dexter's Agriculture Greenhouse class are planning for spring. On Jan. 24 and 25, students potted 100 hanging baskets of geraniums and 50 hanging baskets of impatiens. The rooted cuttings were purchased from a greenhouse supply company and will be cared for by the class for the next few months. Class members are responsible for watering, fertilizing and pruning their plants as needed. Around the beginning of May, the plants will be groomed and sold by the Dexter FFA Chapter.
