Farel D. Robins, 60, of Advance died Jan. 14, 2013, at his home.
He was born Oct. 15, 1943, in Greenbrier, the son of Wilbur and Elsie Crites Robins.
Farel had been employed by Brown Shoes, U.S. Post Offices in Advance and Poplar Bluff and farmed for Lloyd Francis. He was an avid flyer and owned a 1946 Aronca Champ. He was very passionate about eagles.
He was a 1961 graduate of Advance High School and will be sorely missed by neighbors, classmates, and friends.
Farel and Eileen Rowe were married in July 1997, and she survives at their home in Advance.
Others surviving include one step-son, Eugene McDonnell of Dexter; one step-daughter, Becky McConnell Motes of New Madrid; four nephews, David and Mark Robins and Rodney and Randy Stevenson; three nieces, Pam Wolf, Robin Flury, and Tana Hudson; three grandchildren, Madison and Wyatt McConnell and Ivory Motes; and one brother-in-law, John Ruhl of Springfield, Ill.
He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother, Norman Robins, and a sister, Melba Ruhl.
Visitation will be held Friday, Jan. 18, 2013, from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Morgan Funeral Chapel in Advance.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, Jan. 19, 2013, at 11 a.m. at the chapel. Rev. Kirby Grindstaff will officiate with Rodney Stevenson II assisting. Internment will follow at Morgan Memorial Park in Advance.
The family requests that any memorial donations be made to 18 Fore Life or the ALS Society.
