Michael James Sharp, age 67, died Jan. 3, 2013, in Lowndes, Mo. He was born Nov. 28, 1945, in Toledo, Ohio, to Charles and Nellie Ackerman Sharp. Michael attended school in Toledo and spent much of his childhood in Holland, Ohio. In October of 1965, he began his service in the United States Army and was honorably discharged in 1971...

Michael James Sharp, age 67, died Jan. 3, 2013, in Lowndes, Mo. He was born Nov. 28, 1945, in Toledo, Ohio, to Charles and Nellie Ackerman Sharp.

Michael attended school in Toledo and spent much of his childhood in Holland, Ohio. In October of 1965, he began his service in the United States Army and was honorably discharged in 1971.

Michael married Patricia Wall in 1968, and to this union two children were born. He worked as a concrete refinisher in the residential construction business and lived his adult life in Toledo and in Dexter and Lowndes, Mo.

Michael joined the Community Church of Christ in 2011. He enjoyed fishing, playing Bingo and going to flea markets. Michael is survived by one son, Michael Sharp, Jr., and his wife, Janice, of Toledo; one daughter, Michelle Billingsley, and her husband, Scott, of Dexter; four brothers, Charles Sharp, Jr., George Sharp, Marty Sharp, and Fred Sharp; nine sisters, Nancy Weaver, Anita Chadwick, Jean Bomar, Jerry Moon, Becky Clark, Debra Wolff, Yolanda Mikolajek, Vicky Carrick, and Charlene Khale; three grandchildren, Matthew Macaluso, Michael Sharp III, and Chelsea Sharp; and one great-grandchild, Lela Sharp.

He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister, Naomi Hudson.

Funeral services were held at Ruegg Funeral Home in Greenville, Mo., at 11 a.m. on Jan. 7, 2013. Burial followed at the Missouri State Veterans Cemetery in Bloomfield with full military honors.

Pastor Jack Rogers officiated.
