Opal P. Montgomery, daughter of the late Albert Anderson and Nettie Blagg Anderson, was born on Oct. 9, 1909, and died Jan. 2, 2013, at West Vue Nursing Center in West Plains, Mo., at the age of 103. Mrs. Montgomery was a resident of Dexter and was a co-owner of Nina's Dress Shop, which is now Lois' House of Fashion, in Dexter for 15 years. She was a member of the Assembly of God Church and also played the piano and organ by ear at the church...

Opal P. Montgomery, daughter of the late Albert Anderson and Nettie Blagg Anderson, was born on Oct. 9, 1909, and died Jan. 2, 2013, at West Vue Nursing Center in West Plains, Mo., at the age of 103.

Mrs. Montgomery was a resident of Dexter and was a co-owner of Nina's Dress Shop, which is now Lois' House of Fashion, in Dexter for 15 years. She was a member of the Assembly of God Church and also played the piano and organ by ear at the church.

On Nov. 20, 1929, she was united in marriage to Rev. Orla Montgomery. Rev. Montgomery preceded her in death in 1999.

She is survived by one son, Ronnie Montgomery, of Thayer, Mo.; one brother, James Anderson of Dexter; three nieces, Sandra Luetje of Olathe, Kan., Lisa Thrower and Elenor Evans, both of Dexter.

In addition to her husband, Mrs. Montgomery was preceded in death by one brother, Marvin Anderson, and one sister, Nina Arnold.

A graveside service was conducted Saturday, Jan. 5, 2013, at 11 a.m. with Dr. Charles Luetje officiating. Interment followed in the Dexter Cemetery.
