BROSELEY, Mo. -- Alison Jarrell led four Dexter players in double figures as the Lady Bearcats defeated Neelyville, 71-32, to claim the championship title at the Twin Rivers Lady Royals Christmas Classic Saturday.
Jarrell knocked three 3-pointers and scored 17 points to lead all players while Dexter repeated as tournament champs at the annual holiday event.
Erika Cobb added 14 points in the win while Paige Patterson dropped in 14 points and added six rebounds and three blocked shots. Brittany Harris rounded out the Dexter players in double figures with 10.
The state-ranked Lady Bearcats dominated the tournament from the first round through the title game. Dexter averaged 82.5 points per game while holding opponents to an average of just 21.25 PPG. Dexter'ss total points differential was 330-85 for the four games.
No. 3 Neelyville upset No. 2 New Madrid County Central to reach the championship game. Against the Bearcats Neelyville was without the services of its top player, Kayla Maupin, who was injured in the NMCC game.
Dexter improves to 10-1 with the win. The Lady Bearcats will next be in action Jan. 3 (Thursday) when they will host Farmington at the Bearcat Event Center.
