Nina Isabelle Sandusky, daughter of the late Virgil G. Allen and Viola Wheeler Allen, was born Aug. 14, 1939, in Portageville and died at her residence in rural Dexter on Dec. 15, 2012, at the age of 73.

Mrs. Sandusky was a member of the Friendship Baptist Church in Dexter, a homemaker, and a resident of rural Dexter.

She was united in marriage to Kenneth Sandusky on Aug. 4, 1956, in Hernando, Miss. Mr. Sandusky survives at their home in rural Dexter.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by her son, Ken Sandusky of Little Rock, Ark.; her daughter and son-in-law, Sandra and Dennis Jackson of Bernie; a brother, Tommy Allen of Parma; three sisters, Ruth Lester of Jonesboro, Ark., Hazel Pickard of Bloomsdale, and Betty Batson of Raleigh, N.C.; and one grandson, Charles Darren Jackson of Dexter.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by four brothers, Vernon Allen, Herbert Allen, Leroy Allen, and Jimmy Doyle Allen; and two sisters, Lilly Williams and Lois Paul.

Visitation was held at the Rainey-Mathis Funeral Home in Bernie from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m. Monday, Dec. 17, 2012.

Graveside services were conducted at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Dec. 18, 2012, in the Sycamore Cemetery with Rev. Lonny Mittag officiating.
