Ruth A. Woods

Ruth A. Woods, of Flint, Mich., was born July, 6, 1929, in Dexter, Mo., to the late Benjamin and Emmer Lane McCormick, and died Dec. 2, 2012, in Michigan.

Ruth loved to help those in need and her greatest joy was spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.

On March 20, 1949, she married Joseph E. Woods, Jr. He preceded her in death on Dec. 17, 2003. She is survived by her children, Thomas M. Woods, Christopher B. Woods, and JoEllen Woods; grandchildren, Anthony Joseph Woods, Jennifer A. Woods, and Tommy J. Woods; great-grandchildren, Michael L Preston, II and Breanna N. Preston; sister, Dorothy (Alfred) Coleman, and a brother, Lloyd (Beverly) McCormick.

Visitation was held Wednesday, Dec. 5, 2012, at the Allen Funeral Home in Davidson, Mich. Interment was in the Missouri Veterans Cemetery in Bloomfield, Mo., on Friday, Dec. 7, 2012. The family requests that memorial donations be made to the Parkisons Foundation or the American Heart Association.
