A Bernie teen and a Dexter woman sustained injuries in separate wrecks in Stoddard County Wednesday morning.

At 7:25 a.m., Teresa Poe, 16, of Bernie was eastbound on Hwy. U, five miles west of her hometown when she traveled off the right side of the roadway, overcorrected, traveled off the left side of the roadway, again overcorrected and finally went off the right side of the highway and overturned. She sustained moderate injuries and was taken by ambulance to Poplar Bluff Regional Medical Center for treatment.

According to the patrol, the teen was wearing her seat belt at the time of the accident.

Just over an hour later at 8:45 a.m., a vehicle driven by Tamorah R. Hasty, 38, of Dexter was northbound on Hwy. 25, two miles south of Dexter and was struck from behind while attempting to make a left turn.

Driving the second vehicle was Larry C. Wasson, 72, of Morehouse. Wasson was not injured, but Hasty sustained minor injuries and was transported by ambulance to Missouri Southern Healthcare for treatment.

Both drivers were reportedly wearing their seat belts at the time of the accident.
