PUXICO, Mo. -- Mingo Job Corps Civilian Conservation Center has dispatched 17 students and 3 staff members to Farmingdale, New York to assist with Hurricane Sandy recovery efforts.
Mingo's team will be working with FEMA, providing camp crew support. Camps are set-up to provide food, showers, and a place to rest for front-line disaster workers. "The hurricane volunteers are members of Mingo's Wildland Fire Team and have received US Forest Service training. We are proud of these individuals for offering a helping hand in the aftermath of this very destructive storm." stated Tim Aslin, Business and Community Liaison.
Mingo Job Corps Civilian Conservation Center is a residential vocational and educational training program serving students ages 16 to 24, located near Puxico, Missouri. In addition to seven vocational trades, Mingo Job Corps offers GED or High School attainment, driver's education, and basic health care all at no cost to the student.
