Billy Jay McClain, 48, of Fenton, Mo., died Sunday, July 29, 2012, at St. Clair Health Center in Fenton, Mo.
Mr. McClain was born June 29, 1964, in Hammond, Ind. He had lived in Fenton for the past 10 years. He formerly lived in the Poplar Bluff and Dexter areas most of his life. He was a member of the Local Laborers Union #916 in Farmington.
On Dec. 17, 2007, he married Julie Owens. She survives.
Also surviving are his father and step-mother, Billy Joe and Brenda McClain of Dexter; his mother, Barbara Ann Russell of Dexter; two daughters, Lydia McClain of Dexter and Allison McClain of the home; three sons, William Frieben, Kyle McClain and Kale McClain, all of the home; six brothers, Mark McClain of Bismark, Mo., Dale Reetz of Poplar Bluff, Daniel Slavings and Jeff McClain, both of Dexter, Robert Slavings of Bernie and Bobby Slavings of Dudley; and four sisters, Barbara Jean Brown of Jefferson City, Debbie Ferguson of Fenton, Michelle Buck of Dexter, and Melisa McLard of Bernie.
He was preceded in death by one sister, Carol McClain.
Visitation will be Wednesday, Aug. 1, 2012, at 6 p.m. at White-Sanders Funeral Home in Fisk. The funeral service will be at 2 p.m. Thursday in the funeral home chapel with Pastor Judy Owens Jeffery officiating. Burial will be in Brown Chapel Cemetery in Broseley.
