Delores (Dee) Hughes Krings, 73, of Cathedral City, Calif., died on July 1, 2012, at the home of her daughter in McKin-leyville, Calif. She was lovingly cared for by her husband and daughters while courageously battling cancer.
She was the daughter of the late Jesse Ray Hughes, Sr. and Dorothy Gowen Hughes Parker and was born in Bloomfield, Mo., on March 9, 1939.
She attended school in Essex and Bloomfield. In 1956 she moved to southern California. On June 10, 1972, she was married to Duane Krings in Las Vegas, Nev.
Dee worked at Kaiser Permanente Hospital in Fontana, Calif., for a number of years and Raymond Cree Junior High School in Palm Springs, Calif., for 17 years. She enjoyed writing poetry, gardening, creative projects of all kinds, and traveling with her husband and friends at Los Compadres.
She is survived by her husband Duane; five children, Deborah and Kym Frame, and Steve, Rey, and Carol Krings, all of Calif.; one sister, Shirley Hughes Corlies; and two brothers, Gary and Larry Hughes, all of Dexter, Mo. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one brother, Jesse Ray Hughes, Jr.
A memorial celebration of Dee's life is planned for early fall at Los Compadres in Palm Springs, Calif.
