Keller Public Library's Summer Reading Series kicks off next Wednesday, June 13, with the theme, "Dream Big -- Read." The series will run each Wednesday through July 18, with the exception of a July 3 session due to the 4th of July falling on a Wednesday.
This year's theme is about all things nocturnal: dreams, stars, planets, owls, and much more.
Area parents who would like to motivate their child to read, help their child to enhance or maintain their reading skills during the summer, or just to open their child's minds and imagination by experiencing a new and exciting adventure through reading, are encouraged to visit the library on the upcoming Wednesdays. Programs will begin at 11 a.m. The themes for each week are as follows:
Wednesday, June 13 -- Reach for the Stars! Learn about the night sky, do the moon walk and snack on Moon Pies!
Wednesday, June 20 -- We're Going on a Campout! presented by Jean Rahm.
Wednesday, June 27 -- Pajamarama! presented by Jean Rahm. Guests should come in their PJs for a pizza party!
Tuesday, July 3 -- Where Dreams Come True! What do you want to be someday? Guests should plan to dress up in an outfit that indicates what they wish to become as an adult.
Wednesday, July 11 -- Creatures of the Night! Naturalist Jared Baker brings live nocturnal animals from around the world!
Wednesday, July 18 -- Nifty Night Crafts! Instructors are going to get creative and make ice cream sundaes.
