Betty Jane Doerschlen

Betty Jane Doerschlen, daughter of the late John and Elsie Fischer, was born on Oct. 31, 1928, in Niles, Mich. and died at her home in Dexter, Mo. on March 31, 2012, at the age of 83.

On April 11, 1955 she was married to Eddy J. Doerschlen in Lordsburg, New Mexico.

Betty accompanied Ed on assignments in the Air Force to England, Okinawa, and various places on stateside assignments. Ed and Betty have lived in Dexter for the last 31 years.

Surviving are her husband, Col. Eddy J. Doerschlen, (Ret.) USAF of Dexter, Mo.; one son, Martin Leon III of Scottsdale, Ariz.; two daughters, Linda Marie Arathoon of Dexter, Mo., and Laurie Ann Doerschlen-Williams of Honolulu, Hawaii; one granddaughter, Bettina Comstock of Cape Girardeau, Mo.; two great-grandchildren, Amari and Trevon; and one sister, Johnetth Morles of Puerto Rico. Other relatives and many friends also survive.

She was preceded in death by an infant daughter, Bettina Doerschlen; a daughter, Deborah Jane Doersch-len; and one sister, Jeanette Morles.

Private family funeral and graveside services were held Tuesday, April 3, 2012, at 10 a.m. with Rev. Steve Easterwood of Dexter, Mo. officiating both services.

Chiles-Cooper Funeral Home in Bloomfield, Mo. was in charge of all arrangements.
