MALDEN, Mo. - Authorities are currently searching for a Malden teenager who went missing on Thursday, Jan. 19.
According to Dunklin County Sheriff Bob Holder, Mandy Pearson, also known as Danielle Miller, 16, was reported missing from the Malden area after telling a friend that she was going to meet a male friend from Illinois at the Malden Park.
Pearson is a previous Illinois resident. Attempts to contact Pearson by phone and by contacting friends and relatives both in Missouri and in Illinois have been unsuccessful.
According to Deputy Wally Poyner, the case is being looked at as a runaway/missing case. He said the teenager has run away before.
"We're hoping that since we didn't have any luck by talking to school mates and friends, we can get somebody who may have seen her by showing her picture around," Poyner said.
Anyone having any information regarding Pearson is asked to contact the Dunklin County Sheriff's Office at (573) 888-2424 or (573) 888-2409, or your local law enforcement office.
