Bonnie Jean Lewis, daughter of the late James and Etta Belle Massey Daniels, was born in Kinder, Mo., on Oct. 24, 1939, and died at her home in Pux-ico, Mo., on Jan. 7, 2012, at the age of 72.
She had lived in the Puxico and Kinder areas most of her life. She attended the General Baptist Church in Puxico, Mo. She enjoyed quilting, doing ceramics and needle work. She and her husband were the owners of Cliff's Market, and she also worked at the Puxico Nursing Center.
On March 21, 1955, she was married to Clifford Lewis in Zalma, Mo. He preceded her in death in May 1985.
Surviving are three sons, Von Lewis of Oregon, Dewaine Lewis of Dudley, Mo., and Jamie Lewis of Bloomfield, Mo.; one daughter, Cindy Murphy of Hammond, La.; seven grandchildren and four great-grandchildren; one brother, Lonnie Daniels of Troy, Mo.; four sisters, Betty McCleary and Vera Alberternest, both of Moscow Mills, Mo., Vera Daniels, of Troy, Mo., and Hazel Christensen of Sunset, Utah. Other relatives and friends also survive. She was preceded in death by five brothers, Virgin, Clelan, Donald, Robert, and Les Daniels; three sisters, Laura Mae Browning, Ilene Robertson, and Judy Gale Daniels.
Visitation will be held Tuesday, Jan. 10, 2012, at 6 p.m. at the Watkins & Sons Funeral Home in Puxico.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday Jan. 11, 2012, at 11 a.m. in the Watkins & Sons Funeral Chapel in Puxico, with Rev. Ray Placher of Puxico officiating.
Interment will be in the Puxico City Cemetery, with Watkins & Sons of Puxico in charge of arrangements.
