Daily Statesman Publisher Bud Hunt announced Friday that Bobby Greer, who has been serving as circulation manager and assistant publisher, as well as overseeing all digital media initiatives for the Dexter paper, will take over the duties of General Manager at the paper, effectively immediately.

In his new capacity, Greer will oversee the day to day operations of the newspaper.

"I am really looking forward to the task at hand and all of the challenges the opportunity brings with it," Greer said. "It is a real privilege to be chosen for the role of general manager of a newspaper that has been a staple in Stoddard County for so many years."

Greer began his newspaper career in 2006 as the Statesman's circulation manager. He has also served as the newspaper's managing editor.

Greer also serves the Dexter Chamber of Commerce as one of its three directors and the secretary/treasurer, also effective this month.
