Outdoor warning sirens will sound for testing at 9:30 a.m. on Friday, Sept. 23 in the city of Dexter, according to Fire Chief Al Banken.
In addition, the Fall season test of the Stoddard County Emergency warning sirens will be take place between the hours of 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. on the same date, Friday, Sept. 23. for Advance, Bell City, Bernie, Bloomfield, Dexter, Dudley, Essex and Puxico.
The city of Dexter has several sirens, one of which is a county-operated system. The county siren for Dexter, according to Stoddard County Emergency Management Agency Director Kent Polsgrove, is located north of Highway 60 near the new Stoddard County transit office.
The Dexter Emergency Management Agency (EMA) will also test their emergency warning sirens on Friday between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m.
The EMA and the county's siren systems will likely not be activated simultaneously.
