SENATH-HORNERSVILLE, Mo. -- Becky Anderson collected three hits and went the distance on the mound leading Dexter to a 9-0 win over Senath-Hornersville on the road Thursday.

"Senath is a good, young team," Dexter coach Leonard Morse commented. "They put the ball in play and forced us to play solid defense. Our girls rose to the challenge and played incredible defense behind Becky."

Dexter was clinging to a slim 2-0 lead with single tallies in the second and fourth innings before the offense produced 6 runs over the final three innings to pull out the win.

"Our offense was kept off balance by Senath's freshman pitcher who continuously threw the high strike," Morse added. "We popped up too many times for comfort.

"However, our girls continued to plug away and steadily increased their lead," he continued. "They really came together as a team and continued to play well in support of each other. I am very proud of them and how much they have improved throughout the season."

Emily Triplett and Riley Rickman both had two hits as the Lady Bearcats pounded out eight hits on the day.

With the win Dexter improved to 12-6 on the season.

The Lady 'Cats have two games remaining this season since the Woodland game scheduled for today was canceled. Dexter will host Advance Monday (April 30) in a rematch of the SCAA tournament's championship game. The Lady 'Cats will wrap up the season Tuesday (May 1) against Twin Rivers.
