Crash, downed power lines kill Stoddard County man

DEXTER – A 57-year-old Dexter man died Sunday night after striking a utility pole in Stoddard County. According to Stoddard County Coroner Brent Stidham, Vallie Griffin was driving on County Road 637, also known as Three Mile Road, when he ran off the roadway and struck a utility pole around 9:05 p.m. Griffin then exited the vehicle and was fatally injured after making contact with downed power lines.
