Dexter Board of Aldermen approve ordinance; election results

The Dexter Board of Aldermen approved the results of the April municipal election Monday evening at its May meeting. After approving the results, city clerk Crystal Bishop administered the oath of office to the three winners of the election. The three were incumbents Terry Battles in Ward I, Tim Aslin in Ward II and Michael Shepard in Ward III. All three will serve two-year terms. When Charlie Parrish turned the lock at Parrish’s Barber Shop last Thursday afternoon, it was not the end of his usual work week. After 51 years at 8 N. Locust St. in Dexter, Parrish retired on April 29. “I came to Dexter in 1970,” recalls Parrish, “and I’ve been in this same spot all that time.
