Monday evening Stoddard County saw its first COVID-19 related death. Stoddard County Health Center Director Ben Godwin confirmed the patient was a resident at Crowley Ridge Care Center. Godwin said the patient was admitted to the hospital on the morning of May 14 due to showing symptoms of COVID-19. The cause of death has not been determined but it is being considered a COVID-19 death as of right now...

Some confusion regarding grant money for small businesses was cleared up during Monday’s Stoddard County Commission conference call. The Coronavirus Aid, Relief and Economic Security (CARES) Act created a Coronavirus Relief Fund of $150 billion that was divided among the states, the District of Columbia, U.S. territories and tribal governments.
