Backhoe goes up in flames Wednesday on Dexter's south side

A Liberty Township backhoe, in place to patch areas on Satmore Drive in Dexter, caught fire and was totally engulfed by the time firefighters could reach the scene Wednesday at about 11 a.m. A township employee had been off of the machine for several minutes when the machine burst into flames. It quickly spread, with expelled diesel fuel also burning a grassy area near the machine. It has not yet been determined what caused the fire. The backhoe was reportedly not running at the time it ignited...

The Advance School Board met at 5:45 p.m. on Monday, Aug. 10, 2015 for the annual tax rate hearing, as required by RSMo.67.110 and 164.011.
