Six people die in Memorial Day weekend crashes

Six people died in traffic crashes over the 2015 Memorial Day weekend. Last year, nine people were killed during the three-day weekend. During the counting period of 6 p.m., Friday, May 22, through 11:59 p.m., Monday, May 25, 2015, the Missouri State Highway Patrol investigated 298 traffic crashes which included 98 injuries and five of the fatalities. County wants to expedite rebuilding bridge washed out over weekend

BLOOMFIELD, Mo. -- The Stoddard County Commission approved prioritizing replacement of a bridge on County Road 354 in Pike Township Tuesday morning after heavy rains washed away the pilings under the bridge forcing the road to be closed.
