Amendment 10 passed-- but what does it mean?

Missouri voters turned out in large numbers at the polls on Tuesday and, among the things they decided, Amendment 10 -- which reduces the governor's budgetary control -- was voted into place. The amendment reads: "Shall the Missouri Constitution be amended to require the governor to pay the public debt, to prohibit the governor from relying on revenue from legislation not yet passed when proposing a budget, and to provide a legislative check on the governor's decisions to restrict funding for education and other state services?". ...

Because there will be no mail delivered on Veterans Day, there will be no paper printed. However, there will be a Thursday paper published and delivered on Nov. 13 to make up for the lost day...

Stoddard Co. youth deer harvest up, state totals down

Stoddard County young hunters took 177 deer during the recent youth deer hunting season Nov. 1-2. That was above last year's 169 harvested deer, but the state totals for the harvest were down three percent from last year.
