There are some residents within the communities that make up Stoddard County who do not have enough food to eat. It's a cold fact, and one that area Boy Scouts and Cub Scouts are trying to change. The 29th Annual "Scouting for Food" collection food drive not only helps provide to those without, but also helps to make the young scouts be more aware of needs in their community. All food items collected by the Scout's efforts will be donated to the Stoddard County Gospel Mission...

BERNIE, Mo. -- In a brief regular meeting Monday night, the Bernie Board of Aldermen awarded the catering for their Christmas party and approved Christmas bonuses for city employees. The city received two bids for catering the Christmas party, and voted to hire Three Tempting Tarts Catering which was the low bidder at $11 per plate. The bid was based on 100 in attendance. DEXTER, Mo. - The Dexter seventh and eighth grade boys basketball teams improved to 4-0 in SCAA play with home wins against Advance Tuesday night. The Dexter seventh grade beat Advance 48-12 and the Dexter eighth grade beat Advance 43-13. Dexter also collected conference wins at Richland Monday.
