Vacant home burns in Dexter overnight

DEXTER -- A vacant home burned late Sunday evening in Dexter. The home, located at 909 N. Sassafras, was vacant at the time of the fire. Dexter Fire Chief Don Seymore said a neighbor reported the fire at 10:09 p.m. Sunday night. Firefighters remained on the scene for two hours before returning to the station. Dexter Police June 27-30, 2014 Phillip Cook, 35, of Dexter was arrested at 109 N. Nelson St. at 7:46 a.m. for driving while suspended or revoked. Brian Owens, 43, of Dexter was arrested at the local parole office at 10:58 a.m. June 27 on a warrant for stealing. He was taken to the county jail. There is no bond, and he remains in jail...
