Farmers gearing up for planting season

The arrival of spring means farmers are in the fields and gearing up for planting season. Late cold weather and recent rains have slowed down corn planting in Stoddard County, but many farmers were set to begin putting seed in the ground this week. David Hueckel, owner of Dexter Ag Service, said corn was the first crop to get planted in the spring.
