Wilma Geraldine Broyles, daughter of the late R. D. Womack and Beatrice Williams Womack, was born on Feb. 17, 1932, in Pemiscot County, Mo., and died Feb. 5, 2014, at SoutheastHealth Center of Stoddard County in Dexter at the age of 81. Mrs. Broyles was a member of the Pleasant Grove Community Church in Dexter. She had worked at Brown Shoe Company in Bernie and Federal Mogul in Malden, was a resident of Dexter and enjoyed sewing and reading...

The Dexter Fire Department was called out Thursday morning to a report of black smoke at Designs On You, a hair and nail salon located at 523 N. Walnut Street. When firefighters arrived, they discovered that a container holding towels used in the salon had caught fire during the night, but had fortunately had burned out on its own...

Perry Paul Morgan was born March 27, 1941, and died Feb. 6, 2014, at his home in Dexter at the age of 72. Watkins and Sons Funeral Home of Dexter is in charge of all arrangements.

Dale Holtzhouser of Harrison, Ohio, formerly of Bernie, Mo., was born Aug. 22, 1948, and died Feb. 7, 2014 at the age of 65. Arrangements in Ohio are incomplete at this time and will be announced at a later date.
