Helen Gaines, daughter of the late Frank B. Carney and Molly Hisaw Carney, was born on March 19, 1919, in Dexter and died on Oct. 27, 2013, at Cypress Point Skilled Nursing in Dexter at the age of 94 years. Mrs. Gaines was a member of the First Baptist Church in Dexter and a resident of Dexter. After 22 years, she retired from the Bloomfield Nursing Center where she had worked as a medical technician.
