Gene Underwood, a resident of Bloomfield, Mo., died on Aug. 23, 2012, at the Golden Living Center in Bloomfield, Mo. at the age of 84. Funeral arrangements are incomplete at this time and will be announced by the Rainey-Mathis Funeral Home.

Gene Underwood, son of the late Walter Underwood and Ola Humphrey Underwood, was born May 4, 1928, in Fairview, Mo., and died at Golden Living Center in Bloomfield, Mo., on Aug. 23, 2012, at the age of 84. Gene was a member of the First General Baptist Church at Bloomfield, Mo. He brought great joy to those he came in contact with. He made his daily rounds in downtown Bloomfield to Charlie Christian's store and to the various offices of Stoddard County Government...
