Floyd Allen, son of the late Jack and Bessie Harlow Allen, was born in Shelby County, Ill., on Oct. 3, 1915, and died at the Golden Living Center in Bloomfield, Mo., on March 20, 2012, at the age of 96. He had grown up in Pana, Ill., and moved to the Aid community in 1959. He had worked raising chickens for the Swift Chicken Co. in Dexter before his retirement. He was of the Protestant faith...

Samuel G. Fisher, 80, of Advance, died March 19, 2012, at St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau, Mo. He was born Oct. 12, 1931, in Lodge, Va., the son of Samuel and Mabel Sebra Fisher, Sr. Sam opened Sam's Restaurant in Advance in 1980. He and his family operated the restaurant for over 30 years...
