By NOREEN HYSLOP Managing Editor Thirty-three years ago a 19-year-old Don Seymore thought it would be a good idea to join the Dexter Fire Department volunteer force. Turns out that was a pretty good idea. Seymore officially took over the duties of retired Al Banken recently as Dexter's first new fire chief. The position was announced at the Feb. 21 meeting of the Board of Aldermen, although Seymore has been fulfilling the duties of the former chief since Banken's January departure...
