Bernie renews four liquor permits

BERNIE, Mo. - The Bernie Board of Aldermen approved liquor permit renewals for four businesses inside the city at their regular meeting Monday night. The city must renew these permits on an annual basis. There was no opposition present at the meeting and all four businesses had representatives present. Gov. Jay Nixon took time during his Dexter visit on Tuesday to visit with emergency responders at the Stoddard County Ambulance District building on Business 60. Nixon praised the work of the local ambulance district in responding to the May 2011 EF5 tornado that ripped through the city of Joplin, Mo.
