Cherry Elaine Sanders, born Aug. 13, 1947, in Sikeston, daughter of the late Joseph A. and Calera Hogue Lopp, died peacefully at her home in St. Charles on Sept. 20, 2011, following her valiant battle with cancer. She was a graduate of Sikeston High School, class of 1965, where she was both a cheerleader and a member of Red Peppers. She was deeply grateful for the marvelous manner in which her classmates rallied around her, despite the distance, in so many ways during her lengthy illness...
