Deadline nears for rice farmers in Bayer settlement

LOUIS, Mo. - The deadline for rice farmers across the county to file a claim in a proposed $750 million dollar settlement offered by Germany-based Bayer Cropscience AG is nearing, according to Don Downing, co-lead counsel and lead trial attorney for plaintiffs in a series of trials that began in 2009. Wreck kills Puxico teen

From staff reports A Puxico teen, Matthew D. Rohan, 18, was killed in an early Saturday morning wreck in Scott County. According to the Highway Patrol, the accident occurred just before 1a.m. when Rohan, driving a 1997 Ford, was eastbound on County Road 538 just east of Miner and ran off the right side of the road, striking a tree.
