Wilma Shaver, daughter of the late Miles Porter Wilson and Rosalee Cartwright Wilson, was born on November 27, 1925, in Bloomfield, Missouri, and departed this life on September 7, 2022, at Cypress Point Skilled Nursing in Dexter, Missouri, at the age of 96 years...

Wilma Shaver, daughter of the late Miles Porter Wilson and Rosalee Cartwright Wilson, was born on November 27, 1925, in Bloomfield, Missouri, and departed this life on September 7, 2022, at Cypress Point Skilled Nursing in Dexter, Missouri, at the age of 96 years.

Mrs. Shaver had worked for Elder Manufacturing in Dexter. She attended Risen Church in Dexter, was a resident of Dexter, and a former resident of Springfield, Illinois for 15 years. She was the best mother ever.

On November 6, 1953, in Bloomfield, Missouri, she was united in marriage to Albert C. Shaver. Mr. Shaver preceded her in death on August 17, 2021.

She is survived by her son, Leonard “Speedy” Shaver of New York City, New York; by her daughter, Lynn Newton of Sikeston, Missouri; by her daughter-in-law, Peggy Shaver; by five grandchildren, Kelly Dudley of Coronado, California; Darin Newton of Sikeston, Missouri, Brad Shaver of Sandusky, Ohio, Ashley Shaver of Waco, Texas, and Brandon Shaver of Dexter, Missouri; by fourteen great-grandchildren, and by eight great-great grandchildren.

Other than by her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by her son, Bill Shaver; by her son-in-law, Ron Newton; by four brothers, Vernon Wilson, Harold Wilson, Junior Wilson, and Bill Wilson; by her sister, Inez Mitchell; and by her great-grandson, Matthew Basquez.

Funeral services were conducted at the Mathis Funeral Home in Dexter on Saturday, September 10, 2022. Interment followed in the Dexter Cemetery.
